District Flood Make-Up Days Information - June 3 Instructional Day and Extended Days Beginning May 2
Dr. Cain learned this morning that his request for two additional waiver days was denied by the Texas Education Agency. The plan for making up the days was approved at the Thursday, April 28 Board meeting.

1)  Friday, June 3, is now a student instructional day;
2) Beginning Monday, May 2, the school day is extended by 18 instructional minutes, five minutes before school and 13 minutes after school.

Start and end times will be posted on the campus websites. Morning bus schedules are not altered as the students typically arrive in advance of the new start time. Afternoon schedules will run approximately 15 minutes later than normal.

ATTENTION: Changes to Daily Schedule due to make-up days
At this time, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has granted only three waiver days due to last week’s flooding. Since the district missed five days, this will mean that two days must be made up. The plan for making up these two days, subject to Board approval on Thursday, April 28, 2016, is as follows:
  1. Friday, June 3 will be a student instructional day;
  2. Beginning Monday, May 2, the school day will be extended by 18 instructional minutes, five minutes before school and 13 minutes after school.

That creates the following start and end times for Kleb Intermediate as follows:
Doors open at 8:15
6th Graders
7th & 8th Graders

CPR Instruction for Kleb Students

Over 300,000 people in the United States have a heart attack each year. Early CPR can double the chances of survival. Recent Texas legislation requires that school districts provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) instruction to students at least once in grades 7-12.  Students will practice CPR skills as they watch an instructional video.  The CPR instruction will be supervised by American Heart Association trained Klein ISD employees.  Klein ISD’s plan is to CPR train 7th grade students through Health/PE/Athletics courses.
